Ghimells

January 30th, 2015 Amsterdam

This year, I went to Amsterdam FashionWeek for the first time as a blogger, which was extra special for me.

On Sunday I decided to wear a silk jumpsuit, from a Dutch brand called Ghimells, with Christian Louboutin ankle boots. After the show of Smaranda Almasan and Frampesca, I bumped into the designer of Ghimells, Melissa Oehlers. She was very sweet and it was a pleasure meeting her.

I have been to several show, but these were my favorite; Dennis Diem, Club Brillant and Dorhout Mees.

The show of Dennis Diem had a mysterious touch to it. Images of a forrest were shown and a singer was lifted up in the air, sitting on a half moon, in a gorgeous white dress. He showed beautiful, feminine designs that included a lot of craftsmanship. Overall there was a lot of attention paid to details, and he finished the show with a very special piece, a wedding gown. Below are my favorite looks, which one is yours?

The show of Club Brillant was a combination of shades, denim and sneakers. It was a real party, as the audience was moving to the rhythm of the music. The show had four different themes; Indigo, Blanc, Vintage, and Innovation. I saw some amazing shades and it inspired me to try something different “shade-wise” this year. Out of curiosity, what is your favorite brand of shades?

The show of Dorhout Mees was very theatrical. It started off with a movie of an abandoned theater and somewhat confused models. You can watch a part of it on my youtube channel. The designs were created out of gorgeous materials and had a lot of details, while still being very sophisticated. Moreover, the whole show formed a unity with the opening video, life orchestra, and lightbulbs that were hanging from the sealing. It was a dazzling ending of this years Amsterdam FashionWeek.
