Last month I have made my first trip ever to Istanbul. Another city I can cross off my bucket list
As a child, I have traveled to Turkey, but only to Bodrum. I have been told that Istanbul is amazing, but I have never had the change to go there. Until now, and indeed I have to stay, it was a beautiful experience. The city is very cultural and historical, and almost everywhere you look there is something to see. Especially when I walked from the Spice Market to the Blue Mosque. In front of the Blue Mosque there is a big square which felt unreal, I had the impression I was in a movie. Game of Thrones in real life.
The Turkish cuisine consists of many vegetables, fruits and nuts, just my taste. I really had some good food here. Also I’m such a tea lover and when visiting the Spice Market, I saw so many different kinds of tea, I wanted to take them all. However, I bought myself some pomegranate flower tea, which is still sealed in the bag. I don’t want to open it, I think it’s too yummy Something else I was stunned by were all the tulips, for the tulip festival. In Holland we are known for our tulips, but you will only see them at the flower market or the bulbs at a tourist shop. Here I saw them next to the sidewalk and in parks, truly gorgeous. As you may notice I really enjoyed Istanbul, and I can’t wait to go back to explore some more.
